  The entry-level F- TYPE used Jaguars new 3.0 -liter V6 COUPE S supercharged petrol engine , good for 340 hp (250 kW; 335 PS), 0 to 60 mph ( 0-97 km / h) in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 161 mph (259 km / h) . In the middle of the F- TYPE S comes with the same engine for 380 hp (279 kW; 375 hp) is matched with a top speed of 171 mph (275 km / h) and from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The top model is the model V8 S, Jaguar 5.0-liter , 495 PS ( 364 kW; 488 hp) petrol engine compressor . The layout is a front engine and rear wheel drive. The transmission is automatic with paddle - shifter with manual override eight-speed . It is a mechanical limited slip differential on the V6 S and an electronic limited slip differential on the V8. The engine choices remain unchanged for F TYPE coupe , but with the addition of a higher performance V8 R model produces 550 PS (400 kW; 540 PS) as a substitute for the convertible V8 S model.
